the new dress came today and it fits a little better than the old one. It's still a little tight but maybe if Addy wears Lissie's stays it might fit better Like me, they both eat too many sweets

Congrats on getting Addy's new dress, maybe wearing Lissie's stays will help Wonder why it's fitting so tight?

It's obviously a poorly designed dress in the chest and arms department.

Geez...I don't know..my Lissie is wearing it (very pretty with her emerald eyes and copper hair!) She's pretty keen on eating well balanced meals and never gorges herself on too many sweets! Maybe she just has "thin genes"! She didn't have a problem getting into hers. She's wearing it with a pair of bobbysocks and saddle shoes. It looks 50-60's that way! One of my new favorites! My Addy is now stuffed into Lissie's stays and the dress fits much better. We shall have to stay away from ice cream! My Felicity also enjoys her sweets. Only Kirsten and Samantha have maintained girlish figures over the years

Isn't it weird how the dolls vary in size? My Molly and Kirsten are a little chubby, especially in the hip area, whereas one of my girls of Today is so skinny that she can barely hold up a pair of knee socks. Maybe the different factories produce slight variations in the dolls?

My Kirsten and Sam are the old white bodied AGs so they are skinnier than the rest. the newer flesh colored bodies are chubbier.

QNPooh - that's odd...My Kirsten, Samantha, and Molly are all white-bodied dolls and they are definitely my chubbier girls. Mostly, I think their hips are wider than my newer dolls. Molly's arms and legs also seem to be a little thicker.

With the older white bodied dolls being thicker/thinner--could it be a matter of hugging? As the dolls get hugged, their bodies might compress. So it could be that the ones with skinnier bodies were more hugged (?). It's just an idea! When I sew dolls the instructions usually indicate to overstuff them a bit. That wouldn't explain the vinyl being thicker or thinner, but could impact the torso's width.
